Need help from a Mac user (regarding iPod firmware file)... please? :)

I purchased an iPod a little while ago, but I cannot get it to work on my PC. Although the device is recognized under Windows Explorer, I cannot access the device and the following error message is displayed: 'iPod' is not accessible because your iPod system software needs to be updated. Unfortunately, I need the iPod firmware file for this which is included in the 'application package' that you download from Apple's website (instructions on how to extract this file can be found here), but it's impossible to open this file on a PC. So my question is: is there anybody on AT Forums who has a Mac and is willing to help me get this file? Because every product I can use to get the iPod to work on a PC (XPlay & EphPod) requires that I update the system software first.

Please help me out -- I promise to buy a Mac next time!

I tried those, but they require that I upgrade to the newest firmware first... didn't ya read my first post?!

Oh... OK.

In any case, I don't think that asking them for the firmware file falls under "technical support," as they mention on their website that they cannot provide the firmware file because it's not their property. Also, they're telling you how to get the file, so I doubt they'll send it to me if I ask them for it.

Anyway... no need for all that -- it's working!!
