Need help from some skiiers.

Started skiing with my old man when I was 4, stopped when he tore his ACL (skiiing ) when I was 12 or so. Just got back on skis (borrowed) last New Years and after a run or two I was back to skiing diamonds/double diamonds (Eastern, PA so.. eh). Now I'm home, and 20 mins from a decent mountain so I want to get back into things. I'm not looking to break the bank on brand new equippment so I was hoping to hit up ebay or find a sale on some lightly used/last years model type stuff. Honestly though, I have no idea what I'm looking for anymore. Now we've got parabolic skis, etc. etc. so I'm just looking for some advice on what I want to pick up.

<edit> Oh, what length shaped skis am I looking for? I'm 6'2"-6'3". 150-170cm?

Best time to find deals is in March or April typically, maybe when ski stuff comes back in they'll have some last years models at good prices too around. Dick's sporting goods has huge markdowns when they clearance equipment, you can find nice prices on higher end equipment.

Yeah, I was looking around at the end of the season this past season but I wasn't sure if I was going to be located near enough to a mountain to make it worthwhile. I really just don't know exactly what I'm looking for at this point.

Hmm, what conditions/type of skiier are you?
Park, slalom, mogul, groomed, powder, backcountry, etc... combination of a few?

The best deals are end-of-season but you'll still be able to find last year's gear on sale for a decent price in most shops. I picked up some nice Rossi SprayerFS park skis last year for $150 (down from $450) in September at a local place... you'll find something.

If you're unsure, best to hit the local shop for advice and see what gear they have available. Oh, and I'm about 6'1" and ride 180cm usually; 170cm in the park. You should be looking at skis at least 180cm and up.

groomed downhill/mogul for the most part. the mountains around here are mostly loose granular with some powder.
