A little goes a long way. Pick up some Bonide Turbo Sprayer surfactant as well to help it stick to the blades and of course a sprayer. Tenacity has only been out a few years but do a google search and you will see it works great. The bad stuff will turn white after 7-10 days but it will need about 3 rounds of spraying about a week apart to finish the job. It's great because you can seed while spraying so the good grass can get a foothold the same time you are killing off the poa annua.

Already have two tank sprayers (one gallon for weed killer and two gallon for roundup). Will pick up some Bonide as well.

I assume it's ok to go ahead and spray this poa annua now? I want it gone!

how did yours turn out. let mine grow a bit to take a couple picks, and it sure as hell is this bluegrass stuff. next weekend will be the first time I can use regular weed killer after seeding so probably should start looking to kill this stuff too.

It worked great!! Killed off the poa within two weeks. I also had some Bermuda grass that had come to life in one area. It turned that stuff white within three days.

I'll keep this in mind for next year. The yard guy tells me that I can put out a pre-emerge in mid October. Not sure why he didn't tell me this last year.

The centipede is still growing and I haven't watered since last Wednesday. So I'm going to let it go for a couple of more days to try and dry out the shallower root poa. I'll keep an eye on it.

I saw that too but not sure how effective that is. Had several patches of bad crabgrass for a couple years and used preemergent along with in season weed & crabgrass killer. While doing a search about this bluegrass weed, noticed on the scott site it mentioned the crabgrass preemrgent is same product for bluegrass and I know from experience that it doesn't work (a least not nearly as effective).

Great. Still thinking it would have been cheaper to go with the fake grass.

It's not that bad. Over the last couple years have done a more regular job of watering and fertilizing and even without using any weed killer yet this year after a heavy spring overseeding, except for this bluegrass there is actually very few weeds naturally forming in the lawn. Saw maybe a dozen dandelions total and some clover along the border with the street. Overall the fescue has grown in strong enough to look out most weeds, even while I can look across the street and see a yard full of dandelions and those white cup things.

Only negative if the seeming total lake of ability for the grass to repair itself in barren spots. Have one spot little bigger than a softball that is plain soil and still bare. Will probably need to use some patch seed as it didn't catch during the normal overseed.

For anyone else reading the thread, have a question about dethatching. I haven't done it before, and it probably needs some particularly in the areas of the about to be removed bluegrass. Have read some description, but not watched videos yet, so some of this may be simpler than it seems. Saw a dethacher tow behind attachement that was basically small metal tubes attached angles down to ground level. Visually it appear as something just a bit smaller and less deep than if you were trying to till the ground and seems that it could do decent damage to an otherwise good lawn. How does this process actually go?

Had a small dead section that was growing. Probably a fungus so had the guy spray the whole yard for that and had him add some Image for the bluegrass. I should be good to go. I don't have any other weeds ATM.

Ignoring today where it is 35 and sleeting, we're starting to get consecutive days of over 65 so time to start treating the lawn. Last year I was mainly concerned with filling in some empty spots, so that annual crap used the extra water to spread even more.

Want to start spreading this some and some new seed soon, what exactly do I need to buy/use with this to have it work properly?
