Need help installing 250GB SATA drive

Since I only had XP Pro w/o SP2 it shows as a 137GB and a 110GB partition.
I would like just one C: drive.

I downloaded SP2 but Seagate support tells me that I have to have SP2 on the XP Pro CD itself or I can?t get just one 250GB drive. Is this true?

If it is, will SlipStreaming SP2 allow me to install a 250 GB HDD/ 1 partition? Thanks.

download and install sp2 from MS and install it from the desktop. Dont worry about slipping it into your XP install CD unless you've already formatted your computer and need to reinstall.

I have installed SP2 but I still can't get 1 partition of the full 250GB without re-formatting correct? I don't care if I have to reformat, I just want 1 partition.

You could try PartitionMagic or something of the sort.

Do you know where Disk Management is? Right click on my computer, Manage, and then Disk Management under the Storage heading.

This is the area in XP where you can set lotsa stuff about your drives, check there.

I dont imagine that you'd need partition magic to do this. I was under the impression that you only needed PM if you wanted to change the size of the partition without losing the data on it.

Otherwise, right click on the drive in My Computer, select format and see what size it says you can format it to.

I think I will have to try PM. Even under disk management I have 2 partitions and I can't make them a single one.
