Need help on new system choices

I am about to build a new computer for my brother, and I have about $1500 to spend. The only thinge he is adamant about is the fact that he wants a flat panel monitor. Here are the components I picked out:

Abit AT7 Motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 1800
Gainward GeFroce 4 Ti 4200
512MB Mushkin PC2700 RAM
Maxtor 80GB 7200 RPM ATA133 HD
Lian Li PC 7 aluminum case
Antec True 330 PS
16X Lite On DVD Drive
32X Lite On Cd Burner
CTX PV520 15" LCD Monitor

The total for all of this is around $1300 which still leaves about $100 for speakers and $100 for shipping. Are these good choices? I did as much research as I could before selecting this stuff, but if anyone sees any probelms, please let me know.

get them from newegg and I think you can save ont he shipping. pick up some logiteck z560 at newegg has well.

i think you would be better off with the toshiba DVD -ROM. very very quiet.

just keep in mind, lcd's are ass for gamers
they are great if you move your system around alot or have space issues but for gamers crt's still rule

I haven't heard of a hardware review site yet recommend an LCD for gaming, CRT do rule in that field.

I will try to talk him into getting a CRT, but I think he may want the LCD due to space concerns. Thanks for your help though.

Tell him that he can buy a Samsung 900NF monitor w/BNC connection to his Ti4200 and 3 of those Maxtor 80Gb harddrives in RAID 0 for the same price as a POS LCD monitor! LCDs blow for gaming and if you've ever seen Jedi Knight 2 on the Samsung 900NF then you'll understand what it is to truely love a monitor. If you do convince him on a CRT monitor I have purchased 5 Samsungs and every one has made me Grin. My Best Friend has the 955DF ($220 @ Newegg), I have the 900NF ($359 @ Newegg) and my dream monitor is the 1200NF ($649.99 anywhere). DROOOOOOL!

I think the case comes with 3 fans (2 front intake and 1 rear exhaust). I was planning on getting the Cooler Master HHC 001 heatsink. It seems to have gotten good reviews, and it is decently priced.
