Need help picking the best optical mouse

Well, just got mine. If it were 20% bigger, it would fit my hand perfectly. I'm kinda glad it has detends on the mouse wheel. Forward/back buttons are a bit hard to reach, but this is coming off an Intellimouse Explorer v1. I can move it more quickly though, and wireless is nice. Right mouse button is a lot lower than the IntMouse Exp., which is nice since I don't click it by accident all the time. Middle mouse button could stand to be a little softer though.

The Intellimouse used to snap across the screen sometimes during regular motions, random artifacts, but I haven't noticed that (yet) with the Mx1000.

love it. probably only fully charged it once =P and yeah, i have to recharge it this week (overnight). it's down to 1 bar ; ;

Wanted to say I got the Mx1000 and never looked back. I like it very much. It took some getting used to for the moved page forward/back buttons, and I haven't even gotten around to installing the application-switch driver software, but I think it works just fine without it. Tilt wheel doesn't do much though.

And it has a nice feel too. The Microsoft $25 mice feel like $25 mice, but this feels like a $75 mouse. I only use the Intellmouse now for when I am working in a 3d modeling application that requires the middle button a lot. The Intellimosue Explorer 1.0 is a tad more comfortable for long term use - probably because I have large hands.

I had the mx1000 for about a week. and i returned it. however, my only complaint is that damn thumb groove. i have somewhat large fingers, and don't palm my mice, but use my fingertips for navigation. the mx1000 is by far the nicest mouse i have ever used, i've done the rzer, i've done the intellimouse, i currently own a mouseman dual optical, and the mx1000 blow them all away. however the damn thing is so uncomfortable that it literally pains me to use it. without cocking my arm and wrist at a weird angle, i simply cannot find a good spot to place my thumb, and with my fingers on the right side, my ring finger drags all over my funcpad.

this mouse is fast, and the weight did not bother me since you hardly have to move it, it's that sensitive and precise. however i just could not physically hold it comfortably. so beware those with large hands/digits. i fully endorse this mouse otherwise, if they ever redesign it's physical form, i'll be first in line to buy one. counter-strike: source, ut2k4, photoshop, windows programs in general, it's just a much improved experience.
