I need to ship out a processor/memory/board combo tomorrow.

I have none of the original packing material. I'm shipping a slot 1 P3 + board + one stick of ram. What is the best way to package it for Fed Ex? I really don't have much in the way of antistatic bags - maybe one for the motherboard. Can I ship them all mounted together?

Thanks in advance.

i would not ship them assembled.
spend some time checking the mom and pop shops for materials (most times you get them free or very cheap) and shipping it packaged right.
skimping on the packaging will never be a wise choice as too much can go wrong as it is,nevermind when its not packaged as carefully as possible.

If I don't have any of those plastic processor holders, I use 2 pieces of cardboard about the size of the processor, one on either side of it, then use a rubber band to secure the cardboard in place - just make sure that it isn't too tight though. Pack that in an antistatic bag, and then in a box with packing peanuts. That should get it to its destination safely.
Edit: duh...I was thinking of a socket processor; now I see that you said "slot 1." This should be a bit easier then, as there are no pins to get bent. Do check local computer shops for antistatic bags; they should have some lying around. I worked at a computer shop once, and I took home a big box of antistatic bags from motherboards and videocards - the bags were out for the trash! This place was pretty wasteful; they had about 4 pounds of 3 different kinds of case screws, all intermixed. Rather than taking the time to sort them out, they just put them out for the trash. Mine now. Some businesses can afford to be quite wasteful - good for people looking to salvage useful stuf then.

Each piece in its own anti-static bag, boxed up with bubble wrap. Anything less would be lazy on your part.
