Need help removing system tray icon

hi, i was wondering how do i remove the "nvidia rotation settings" icon in my system tray.
i have been trying to figure this out, but no luck.
any help would be appreciated. thanks!

properties
Customize
....
you should figure it out from there!

oh..i didnt actually want to hide it, where it will give me that arrow to hide. i want to actually remove it from startup.

Just taking a shot in the dark I'd try doing the run: msconfig and removing it from startup.

hmm... i am not quite sure which one it is for the nvrotate under msconfig. wouldnt that terminate all the nvidia stuff?

try hijackthis.exe, google it

do this: right click the desktop and choose nvidia display. then go to tools and uncheck show taskbar icon. enjoy.

I have the same problem, on a Tecra S3, and cannot figure out how to stop that. Have you found anything that works?

You can try this:

on my

GA-K8NE s754
3700+ clawhammer
1x1GB ram
PCI-E 6800GS

nforce4 SMbus chipset driver 6.86
i use 91.31 without any issue so far.

i just input the reg edits to disable the 2 things that auto pop up in that driver set.

Disables SLI Popup =

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak]
"NvCplEnableMultiGPUConfigurationPage"=dword:00000000

Disables NV Tray in new controle pannel =

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies]
"TaskbarUIPolicy"=dword:00000001

after you change that dword to :1, go to old CP and disable the Tray Icon, then Reboot and re-enable the new CP and the Tray icon will be disabled.
