Would anyone out there help me pick a Best Video Card out of Voodoo5 55oo or Geforce2 GTS or Radeon 64mb vivo. if anyone know any thing about this please help me making a selection on video card.
GeForce2 = Excelent gaming performer and supports 32bit color.....preattier picture
Voodoo5 = Good Gamer no support for 16bit color
Redeon = excellent 2d performer and i believe it supports 32bit color for games
So Voodoo5 and Geforce are gaming cards, and i would go with Geforce cuz i think 3dfx are lazy bums and want to see overpriced stuff, with ok performance, like sony - u pay for the TM. Im not an ATI fan nor even a user.....i had a 2mb ATI Mach 64 v.card but that was back in '94. Looking on the market now and the major v.card manufacturers i would say (MY OPINION) that ATI sux because a) they sell decent stuff and b) u pay too much for what u get.
So again Look at what u need..... and in doubt check out the manufacturers websites for tech spects or browse through anandech's review section.
ToXiCRaGE - no offense man, you probably mean well, but you don't seem to quite know what you're talking about. LetapVJ - post some more system specs for us!
hey im not the expert and it is my opinions only but from what i have seen and what "I" would go for is the gforce......and yes im not a wiz but im right man. I dont like 3dfx cuz they way overprice there products for what they put in them. And yes i havent checked the 3 spects of the 3 cards lately but the majority of what i said is right
Radeon = excellent 2d, excellent 3D image quality, fast but not fastest
V5 = excellent 2d, excellent 3d image, pretty fast, might have more potential with HSR drivers. Best 16bit 3d of the lot. DOES support 16Bit - not sure what the hell the last guy is on about..
GTS = fastest card, but below par 2d. Very good 3d quality but not the best...
The majority of what you said is pretty much wrong ToxicRage, but I don't really want to start a petty flame war here. You recommended the Geforce 2 which is fine. Although what you said about the other cards (and the GF2 itself) makes it seem like you're a bit confused about things...
good ill update my "drivers" then, but still i used all of the manufacturer's v.card too and although they have been spaced in time quite broad so u cant compare them to eachother that much...i would never go again to 3dfx or specially ati....to me nvidia is the best. I've been happy with it and to me it gives me the best colors and picture..... then again i dont really care for 2d performance cuz all of has to say that most of the picture looks good on a good monitor (maybe im ignorant here...sorry). but i use my machine to play and speed is all i care........maybe i dont know the specs too well but GeForce is my favorite.....besides u need to have some superhuman vision to see the diff, and i know it all looks good on paper and thats what all of u care for
anyways dont need to take this $hit from u ppl....besieds im learning too and yes my first expenation there was even confusing to me after i read it and did edit it
So what......at least i wrote something for the guy instead of telling him to look for it somewhere else....

Not only does he have exceptional knowledge about video cards, but unimpeachable grammar and people skills. Hooked On Phonics at work here?
He was only trying to help though, he had good intentions. I learned most of what I know now by freqeunting boards such as this. You tend to pick things up, and it's good that he's trying to offer advice and help people out IMHO.
Give him a week or two though and maybe he'll learn that the Voodoo 5 does suppport 16 bit colour
