I have an ASUS A7V266-e with 2 extra Promise IDE controllers on it. i do not have a RAID aray, but I I do have an extra HD that I'm just trying to install for extra storage.
Loading new drivers in my existing XP install and plugging the HD into the Promise controller has proven to be unsuccessful. A guy at ASUS tech support told me that this is a known issue and that I need to slipstream the ATA drivers for the Promise controller into a fresh XP install.
Having never slipstreamed anything before, I was wonderring if anyone could help me through it or point me to a link that can. I have found several good tutorials on slipstreaming SP1 into XP, but not on how to do it with single driver sets.
Any help?
