I have an IBM 20.5gig as my main drive (1 partion), and a Maxtor 30gig (3 partions) I want to put in as a slave, just so I can use Ghost to put the data on the IBM over to the Maxtor.
I set the Maxtor as slave (the IBM is obviously already the master), and at the boot screen all is well, until it goes into windows. It boots into the Maxtor. I went into safe mode, and the first partion of the Maxtor is now the C drive, the IBM is now the D drive, and the other two partions of the Maxtor are E, and G respectively. Why, and how can I correst this?
I was told over the phone while at work today that you can make a boot disk with Ghost (it's a DOS program), but after reading the cover of the case I noticed that the disk thing is just for a recovery. Is there a way I can use a start up disk(like start puter with CD-ROM support, or something)?
I tried to use a command prompt, and tried it in DOS mode, but no luck. The same guy I talked to at work ("mattyrug" a new member here) has used it in DOS mode himself (said it was faster too), but I can't figure out how to do it myself.
I am supposed to trade this drive (the IBM) away later today. So this really sucks.
Any ideas?
