Want to upgrade an old office machine I built for dual monitors. Will do word processing, web browsing. Many windows can be open at once, but otherwise do additional signifiant demands other than the new video card with 2 dvi.

I will need new power supply (have Corsiar HX620 ready to install).

I need to select: 1) AGP x4/x8 video card.

Suggestions very much appreciated.

Doubtful that you'll need a new PSU. Most of the time when you need to upgrade the PSU because of a video card upgrade its because the GPU is more powerful for 3D gaming and for what you're planning you can just get the least expensive AGP card with dual DVI and be fine.

With the least-expensive dual-DVI card, you probably will need to upgrade the PSU. A couple of people posted reviews saying their 350s weren't powerful enough on the lower-end cards, and some of the higher-end cards require a minimum of 450W with 30-amp.

OP, looks like you'll be getting a Radeon, which means you'll likely have driver problems. Be sure to read up how others have solved their issues. The cards range from $63 to $85 after rebate.

If you don't mind using a VGA-to-DVI adapter, your choices increase significantly. For example, you could go with an eVGA 6200 for $35 shipped, and you won't need the Corsair...the card will run fine on your current PSU.

I am not against going the VGA-to-DVI adapter route. I was told that the 2 dvi output video card would be better. Scratch that advice apparently. Could you please recommend what VGA-to-DVI adapter you recommend? My most important priority is getting something that will work well. Thanks.

Used ATI fire GL 128 $30

Edit: You may have trouble finding good drivers. An LCD on analog really isn't that bad. I'd get a cheap DVI/D-SUB card and deal with it till your next upgrade.
