I'm helping a friend out who is a part of an NPO.
I was given photos to guide me and it didn't have to be very exact.
I have made the outside of the structure, but need help badly with the interior.
This specific part is not my line of work, but told them I will try. I have a close deadline but
anyone who knows what they are doing can do it in an hour or two.

I have pictures to guide you and was given verbal directions that I typed out.
They stress layout, but everything else in the interior (random furniture, book shelves, cabinets...etc) are for presentation purposes so it doesn't have to look like it came from an engineering magazine, but would help it's viewers see the concept clearly.
When the interior is made, it will need the ability to have a virtual tour. I should be able to
walk around the house, go up the stairs and look around the nooks. Of course floating up to the second and third floors is not a problem...even going through walls as long as the walls are there with detail indicating it is a wall (same for doors and whatever other structures). I would appreciate any help as I don't know how to create interiors. I tried but ended up causing periphery damage to other parts around it. I don't understand the concepts clearly.

I have pictures and instructions if you are interested in helping me.
Thank you in advance!

Also, I can give you my files from Rhino (3dm), jpg pics, and Maya ascii (ma) files. Please use .ma as our versions of Maya may differ. I'm using Maya 2013

Sorry my explanation would be easier if I knew the proper terms, but again, I don't do this line of work but it's for an NPO that is doing good for people.

Didn't post details on here, but if you PM me I can send you everything.

If you can't do it, can you tell me how? I don't know how to create interiors.
I try one thing and damage another surface and am worse off than I started.
I want to create a floor plan with sections for a kitchen, master bedrooms, bathrooms,
desks, stairs, windows, great room, couches, cuppola...etc

Ok so I found this:

http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/60-excellent-free-3d-model-websites/

I just need someone to do the floor plan. It doesn't have to be detailed
so I just need the floor plan to be basic walls and cabinets, closets, stairs, rooms, and things
of that nature that are basic architecture.

Thanks

When it comes to making interiors you have to model EVERYTHING or buy the models and put them in your scene. I use Maya almost 7 days a week and I work at a production company.

You will need to model with polygons, start out with a cube and start extruding faces or adding more lines with the add edge loop tool and push/pull the verticies around till you get the shape you want.

In all honesty it sounds like you're jumping into a project too quickly and need to learn the basics before you take on something that big. I would recommend going through one of the modeling tutorials for maya at www.digitaltutors.com I learned almost EVERYTHING I know from digital tutors and other training websites.

I know how to use the tools you described and yes I am moving too quickly. I told them this 5 times already, but they just kept saying "you'll be fine" smh

My problem is this is inside a dome shape as opposed to a building or house where everything is squared. It's hard to even set lines with the edge tool because it's a curved surface and I'm inside of the structure. I barely learned how to get inside by using normals. Forget about the furniture, can you help with main walls, kitchen, closets, bathroom, stairs, floors and stuff like that? I watched a video where this guy made a house in like 10 minutes, it was just the outside though. I don't think basic shapes like rectangles for doors and walls would be a problem but I don't know how because the curve in the walls since I'm inside a dome.

nboy22 your photos are exactly what I need. I could get away just leaving the rooms without furniture as I can add them myself. I just need the floors, stairs, doors....pretty much everything an empty house would have. The ridges, bevels and all that too. Picture being inside a dome house and adding all of that stuff. I have a dome and I need to had two more floors above the base with stairs, walls on every floors, stairs, cuppola...

Keep in mind that everything should be modeled just like it is put together in real life. Also I have been working on those interior pictures for months so you most likely won't get those types of renders. The floor can simply be made with a plane. The floor can then be textured with the material editor to be like wood. I'll have to put a video together to show you how I would deal with some of the challenges of modeling furniture that might be up against the wall or doorways with curvatures. Working on a Dome shape as a beginner is pretty tough.

The ones that don't show up are Maya Ascii files renamed to JPEG extentions so I could upload them....rename them to be .ma

The side of the dome with the big upside down V window should have in its interior:
a kitchen and great room

The car port (extended roof looking thing in the front) should contain the house entry point. Upon entry, you should be in a hallway which has a master bedroom on each side. One of the master bedrooms should contain a shared bathroom that guests can use and access from the hall way. There should be stairs somewhere near the great room going to a second floor. The window above the car port should contain a loft on the inside and a bathroom somewhere on the floor and maybe 1 or 2 rooms. Each room should contain atleast 1 window. The ceiling on the 2nd floor should have an opening to be able to see the cuppola. Stairs shall go up to the cuppola (lighthouse looking thing) that has a circular patio wrapped around it. Remember it doesn't have to have much detail or good looking texture like yours. I can just highlight and even use concrete if I have to, changing the colors to differentiate wall from door and simple things like that.

This is what was asked in terms of the interior, it doesn't really sound that complicated. I wish I knew how though. I have 8-9 days left.
