I just moved my computer over to a new case...
When putting everything inside, I accidentaly put my ethernet adapter and my sound card in one pci slot too low (compared to where they were before). I booted up and Windows detected new hardware and installed some drivers for it; that was when I noticed what I had done. Neither cards now worked, so I moved them down to the slots that they were previously in... Still didn't work. I reinstalled the drivers for the ethernet card and got it working, but reinstalling the drivers for the sound card didn't get it working. I got a suggestion to move the sound card to the slot that I had put it in before then reinstall again; I did, but it still didn't work. I have tried everything I know to do and have checked over all the connections and settings many times. Windows is reporting that everything is working fine, I just don't get sound.
I'm starting to go crazy.. I've been at htins thing for 2 days now..
Someone please help me....
