Ok my specs of my pc
1. core I7
2. gtx 480
3. evga 760

My projector is the optoma hd33.

I have my gtx 480 connected to my projector via hdmi. The one that came with the 3d kit.

Now if I go to nvidia control panel and try to select the optoma projector it will allow me to. But it wont let me get to 120hz. It only allows me to get to 60hz. (1920*1080). I know that 3d is a 120hz so how do I select it.

And How can I tell if a movie is SBS or Top TO Bottom. I need to know so I can select the correct one. There are options in the menu on the optoma

120Hz isn't "3D", but rather it's the refresh rate that is used for nVision 3D and AMD HD3D (over DisplayPort!!!).

Also, it's pretty easy to tell what the video is (side-by-side vs. top-bottom) simply by opening the video. At worst, you can edit the file name to include this for easier future viewings.

Are you using 3DTV Play? You need that and driver 310.33, according to Nvidia's web site.

I don't think he'll need this, because side-by-side and top-bottom just transmit everything using the same ol' HDMI transmissions as standard 1080p content. As you can guess from the name, they just place the two frames in that orientation. I've never tested it, but I would assume that as long as he is outputting the video in full-screen and sets his projector to the proper viewing mode, he's fine.

For example, my HTPC uses an i3-530 with the iGPU and I have tried 3D YouTube content on it. I bet I could also do the same with a MKV, but I've never tried.

The answer is simple: You can't do frame-doubled 3D @ 60 fps @ 1920x1080 with an HDMI display.

You are basically limited to the following:
1) Frame-doubled 60 fps @ 1280x720. This is what's used for games.

2) Frame-doubled 24/30fps @ 1920x1080. This is what's used for 3D Blu-ray.

3) 60 fps @ 1920x1080, two images per frame. Effective resolution is halved.

I don't suspect that he's dealing with Frame Packing (what you call "frame-double 3D" in #1 and #2). He asks about top-bottom and side-by-side, which would be your #3 (also checkerboard and anaglyph can be done using that with the latter having full resolution but awful coloration).
