I have a Toshiba PCX2200 cable modem, and untill a few days ago it worked fine. Now it seems that if I try to use a ethernet cable from the modem to my pc or hub the modem is not being seen. All I get is the little icon in the taskmanager that says a network cable is unplugged. Right now I am using that same modem to get online, but I have to do it by USB.
Is there some seeting that I should check to see if it is my modem that is bad, or somthing that has to do with my network cards? I have tried to use the ethernet plug that is part of my motherboard as well, but I get the same message as I do when I use my regular Netgear card, so I am not thinking that both are broke. Also, when I plug the hub into the network card, the activity light blinks, but when I plug in the modem the lights on the card do not do anything.
Any ideas as to what I should try to do next?
