Need help with choosing the best editing card for video...

Hello,

In two months my wife and I will be having our first child. She is allowing my to spend $300 - $350 on a video (editing) card. It will have to work with my DV camcorder. I can use it as my main video card also if necessary.

The $40 DV Wonder firewire card is all you really need for your DV camcorder. Comes with editing software as well. Add it to your system and buy a couple big hardrives for editing with the money you save, you'll need them

The 8500dv is a great card, yes, but you'll be paying for alot more than you realy need IMHO.

PS, get the wifey something nice and some new jammies for the new little yikester, congrats!
