Need help with first x64 Quad System

Hello,

I've recently built a quad core system on a Gigabyte motherboard.

I have 4x2gb sticks of Gskill memory and the system loaded windows perfectly fine with 4gb (2x2gb) of the memory. However when I put the final 2 sticks of memory in the system (8 total GB), it refuses to make it past bios.

There is no odd beep, no memory error, etc.. however the monitor goes blank each time.

I'm not sure if this is an operating system issue, or more of a hardware issue, but any insight would be appreciated.

Here are the basic system specs:

GIGABYTE GA-N650SLI-DS4 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI
Core2Quad Q6600
Gskill 8gb (4x2gb) DDR2 667 Memory
2 sata DVDrw Drives
1 sata 750gb hard drive
1 sata 250gb hard drive
Evga 7400gs video card

Which OS are you using?

A quick search shows this statement in the tech specs on Newegg:

Max memory supported:
8GB
Due to the limitation of Windows 32-bit operating system, when more than 4 GB of physical memory is installed, the actual memory available for the operating system will be less than 4 GB; Windows 64-bit operating system doesn't have such limitation

Not sure why it would stop the system from booting...but it may be something to think about.

Have you tried rearranging the RAM? Is it possible that the 2 additional sticks, at least one is trashed?

Have you tried plugging in the additional 2 sticks, and just them?
