need help with modem setup!

recently, I bought a Viking ISA winmodem and I run into a lot of trouble with setting it up. Driver was installed fine, until I run Diagnostics; I got this Open Port message. So, I went into device manager-resources to change to different address, and try to change irq, but irq 5 is only available with no conflict. So, I try different addresses and still can not make my winmodem to work. Any suggestions would help.

This a very GOOD modem. Do like the directions says go into the BIOS and disable com2. Put the modem on com2 and it will work fine. In fact just try different com ports. When all else fails read the little info that came with the modem.

Thanks, I change the address to com 3, but still not working.
Will try to disable com2 and use it. Did read the little info came with the modem, but still no help. Will let you know if it's working tonight.
