I built a computer with a Gigabyte DS3 Motherboard - installed windows XP Pro and initially all was well - networked with other computers. Have a network printer that worked fine. Then after a while I started having problems. Would not connect to other computers (but others could connect to it). Then I screwed up - Installed System Mechanic 7 and its Firewall. NOW I cannot print and cannot even see my OWN network on the computer - i.e., when I click on My Network Places, I get a message that the workgroup is unavailable. Run setup wizard over and over - still cannot connect at all.
So what do I do? I uninstalled the System Mechanic stuff and still not able to network or connect. I am connected to the internet through my Linksys router - I can even enter the IP for example of the printer and pull it up to see the status but it is not available to install, just see status. Cannot access any workgroup.
Is there a way to totally wipe out any network settings and start over? Mostly I need my HP 5150 Network Printer that is plugged into the router.
