Hey all ..

I was just thinking of upgrading my PC for Battlefield 3. ( new gpu's)
as they say in the preview you will need get a 6990 or a gtx590 for good frame rates to have. ( ultra + AAx )

these are my current specs of my PC.

CPU: AMD Phenom X4 965 Black Edition@3.4Ghz

GPU: Sapphire 6870 1GB (think it BAD!) It namelijkl DX11 Un-friendly / AAX

MOTHERBOARD: GA-MA790X-UD3P (six core supported and CrossfireX)

RAM: 4GB DRR2 ' i know ddr2 but it doesnt affect the fps.

1TB HDD

PSU 650W

I was thinking of buying x2 6970 ->> = 6990 (the 7000 series were almost there but I can not wait .. am so impatient ...: /
New + Case + PSU (because with 650 watts, I will not meet it.)
my budget is around 800 euros for the video cards and psu..
it's been 320 or more per card '6970.
My case is not that big....

I would like to upgrade to this over here -> http://www.pixmania.be/be/nl/9878620...et-series.html

-
now I know not whether all video cards support Crossfire ..

like this one I would like stabbing x2 such that do not know if they are CrossFireX Ready? "Little help ..because it's my first time I will do CrossfireX.

Then another new power supply would have to succeed 750WATT http://www.pixmania.be/be/nl/3088236...w-750w-cm.html I read.

800 will be crap, but we will see.

SICKOFTOX-

BTW sorry for my bad english. still improving.

First of all, just because you have a large budget doesnt mean you need to spend it all. You also do not need a 6990 or 590 to have good fps.

  • Recommended PC Specifications for BF3/Frostbite 2:
    • Processor: Quad Core CPU
    • Main memory: 4 GB
    • Graphics card: DirectX 11 compatible
      • AMD : Radeon 6950 or higher performance
      • NVIDIA: GeForce GTX 560 or higher performance
      • Graphics memory: 1024 MB RAM
    • OS: Windows 7 64 bit
    • Free HDD space: 20 GB
    • Sound Card : DirectX X compatible
    • Keyboard and mouse
    • DVD ROM drive
Thats the recommended specs, you could run it just fine with a 650w PSU and a single GTX 570

BTW, what resolution will you play at?

1680x1050.

But i want my fps Average 60 or higher with EVERYTHING maxed.

AAx HBOA and stuff. with my 6870 now it runs not good.

Remember that the Beta you have been playing is NOT well optimized and the game will run a lot smoother than what it does now, when it finally releases

I don't know how the actual game will run but I've been running the beta very well with an ATI Radeon 5870 2gb video card. But I do have a 2.9 quad-core cpu, 16gb ram, and 450gb Raptor 10K RPM HD at 1920x1200 resolution.
