I really like the name Paragon. Unfortunately it and many iterations of it are already taken as domain names. I just really like the connotation that it gives off. When I hear Paragon I think "a shining example of something good and benevolent." I guess that's what I want my business to represent. I want it to be a business where giving back to make the world a better place is at its core foundation.

Not going to comment on what the business is. I want it to be more than just photography.

Just having a tough time finding a domain name that is available. Frustrating.

Name it something that makes sense to what you do. I could imagine driving past your business and going "Paragon, ok wtf do they do" then quickly forgeting I ever saw it.

So "Paragon Photography Studio" would help alot.

I have no experience, just my opinion.

I don't want to name it for something that I do because then it funnels the business into doing *only* that. Believe me, I've made that mistake. It sucks. Rebranding sucks. I want something that conjures up feelings within people and has no links to the actual service.

I take it the business is not based on attracting the general public then?

Just curious where you anticipate to gather customers from...

Not that I'm questioning your business plan, but imo the name only matters so that its easy to find(spelling the url) and not easily forgettable.

Paragon, Titan, King, seem like decent power words to me.

There used to be a company named Bastian-Blessing that made high quality soda fountains; their logo included a depiction of a chivalric knight, which as a kid made assume "Bastian" was just an alternate spelling of bastion. Turns out both names were just names from the company founders, according to Wikipedia.

I've always thought that was a fantastic company name.

Sine qua non. Or "Nth Degree."

But the very best (pun intended would be to go all old school with Acme. This will start a smart-ass convo featuring Roadrunner references with everyone who doesn't know the true meaning of the word. And that would be a ton of peeps.

To get your point across, your logo would have Acme in that exaggerated movie poster-comic perspective against, say, a towering pyramid . . . or something.

For the lazy:

Definition of ACME

: the highest point or stage; also : one that represents perfection of the thing expressed

Hard to say when you won't specify (or even hint) what else besides photography you plan to offer.

Paragon Photography and More
Paragon Media Services <--- lots of potential with this one when you abbreviate it PMS
Paragon Multimedia

etc

I like media services. It sounds broad but you still get a sense of what it is you're offering

Something with a .xxx

Those kinds of photography sites always seem to make money.

Ok, but you also want something that will startle and engage, that will stand out and that will prompt the potential customer to actively interact. Once they engage in this active manner by asking, "Whaaaa?" they will be infinitely more likely to remember and register your firm in their tiny little brains.

So . . . what about "HeartAttack" ?

Your logo would be framed by a giant red heart, centered inside of which would be a guy who's literally ripping his heart out of his chest and holding it forward towards YOU, the grateful consumer!

He would be ringed by a glittery penumbra of hearts, all inside the heart-shaped frame, and the logo would say something like, "Core Value Photography: We give you everything we've got."

You could make it an infinite regression, with the heart the guy is holding being a miniature version of everything that's inside the initial heart-frame, including an even tinier guy holding his even tinier heart inside of which . . . ad infinitum!

I like the idea. Not fond of the gore

To avoid lawsuit/trademark infringement etc I always Google whatever name I want, and only if it has 0 results I use it. There's always the danger of some other company deciding to start using it and then suing you though but not very likely.
