I have a bizarre video card problem. I recently tried to upgrade the video card from an old (socket 939 system of mine). The old card is a Geforce 6200 PCI-Express card, and I was moving over to a Geforce 7600GS. My system works fine with the 6200, but as soon as I replace it with the 7600GS -- the following happens. The system posts and I can get into BIOS...but if I let it go to Windows, the screen blanks out right when Windows starts to load (I never see the Windows logo). I know Windows starts up correctly because I eventually hear the Windows startup music....but the display is totally blank. If I put the 6200 back in everything is fine. I tried the 7600GS on a different system so I know it's not the card. I even pulled a 7600GT from a different system and tried it with this one and I get the same Windows blank screen problem. I tried it with 2 different power supplies (one 400 Watt and one 500 Watt) -- same result. There is only one hard drive and 1 CD-ROM drive so I doubt if I'm taking the power supplies much.
My system:
Motherboard: ECS NFORCE4-A939 (Socket 939)
CPU: Athlon 64 3200+
Memory: 1GB PC2700 DDR
Power Supply: Fortron 400 Watt / Xclio 500 Watt (Goodpower)
Hard Drive: Seagate 60GB IDE
Anyone have any ideas? I really hate to be stuck with the 6200....
Sandy
