I just built a new computer. 3.0c, 1 gig of pc3200 corsair xms, gigabyte 8knxp, gf4 ti4200 128 megs, antec case and tru power 430 psu. One in a while, my computer will restart by itself. I thought it was the power supply because I had a powmax before, but it still restarts. Can anyone tell me what might be possibly wrong? Thanks.

download memtest from here

run the program. you arent lookin for anything in particular. just let it run and if the memory is faulty, it'll give you errors

how do I run it then?

This is the installation instructions:

==============
Memtest86 is a stand alone program that cannot be executed under windows and must
be loaded from a floppy disk.

To install Memtest86:
- Extract the files from the zip archive
- Open the directory where the files were extracted and click on "install.bat".
- The install program will prompt you for the floppy drive and also prompt you to
insert a blank floppy.
- To run Memtest86 leave the floppy in the drive and reboot.

NOTE: After the boot floppy has been created you will not be able to read the floppy
from windows. This is normal.

No, you should have no errors at all.... what do you have the memory timings and voltage set to?

Turn off any performance enhancement features on the board and try again. You might have faulty RAM. Is everything at default settings? Also might need a slight increase in VDIMM (2.7 or 2.75V, whichever your board lists giving preference to the lower).
