I hope this is the right forum. I had to replace the hard drive in my mp. I reinstalled all of the software that came with, and upgraded to SP2 so the larger hard drive would be recognized. The pc came with some video programs, including PowerVCR, PowerDirector, and a couple other things. I also reinstalled Nero 6, and updated it. The problem is the video capture programs no longer work. A pop up msg says "video capture device is not detected". The video capture is built into the pc. It has connections on the front and rear. The video card is a GEForce4 Ti4200 with 128 megs. Not the best, but it works for what I do. I went to nvidia's site and upgraded the graphics driver. That didn't work. I then started downloading the wmd drivers that were there. Another pop up appeared that said something like "installing this software will cause harm or cause your system to become unstable". What do I do? I suspect I need drivers. The capture program worked before the hard drive failed. Will those drivers actually cause problems? I don't see a manufacturer's name on the card. Will someone help?
