Is this a good setup for the money or can someone show me a setup for around the same amount
Cpu i5-4690k
Cpu cooler kraken x31
Motherboard asus z97-a
Memory ripjaws Xseries (2x 4gb)
Storage Samsung 850 Evo series 500gb ssd and 1tb western digital blue
Video card msi GeForce gtx 970
Case nzxt s340
Power supply evga g2 750

It all comes out to around 1260 can someone let me know if this is good or can I get better for the price

Switch the motherboard to an MSI Z97S Krait edition and it brings it down a little bit. But, it's a fair price for everything. I just like the Krait because of black and white color.

It's not bad, but it seems slightly high (~$100 assuming USD). Can you list out the prices that you're paying for each part and where you're buying from?

Get a smaller power supply. I run a similar setup with a 650w power supply.

I put it together on pcpartpicker assuming they are showing the cheapest prices http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sZgdzy is there a better build I can do for that price? If so please post I'm new to pc gaming switching from console could use some help

Thanks for the PCPP link, that helps a lot.

The main issues I see are:

- CPU + mobo is expensive due to not taking advantage of combos like this i5 4690K + MSI Z97S Krait for $325 AR
- Single radiator CLC's are expensive and not any better than a 120mm tower
- Expensive SSD
- Expensive GTX 970
- Expensive PSU

With some tweaks, I was able to get it down to $1100 for the same quality parts, except the GPU, which is better.
