Hey guys, the bug has hit me and I can't stand it any longer! lol Gonna be doing an i7 920 build in the next few weeks and wanted to get some input on 1 or 2 issues that crossed my mind.

First things first, I've pretty much narrowed down my board choice to the DFI LP DK X58-T3eH6.

I plan to pick up the cpu and thermaltake V1 or V1 AX from a local microcenter.

My conflict comes in with the RAM. I'm trying to decide between like 4 kits LOL
G.SKILL PI Black 6GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) for $219
OCZ Platinum 6GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) for $119 w/ $10 MIR
OCZ Reaper HPC 6GB DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000) for $191 w/$40 MIR
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) for $141

- I know the G.Skill set works VERY well from looking at these results , it just has a pretty hefty price premium.
- The OCZ Platinum kit is not only reasonably priced but also has the lowest latencies of all the kits listed
- The OCZ Reaper kit has the most bandwidth and OC flexibility for a reasonable price
- The Corsair kit is mainly for if I can't stand it any longer and decide to get a P6T vanilla instead (then I can just buy everything locally from Microcenter) lol

Second issue is I'm wondering if my PSU will be up to the task. I have the orange PCP&C Silencer 750w unit and I'm planning to shoot for a 4Ghz OC.
Let me know what you think

EDIT:
Oh yeah forgot to list carry over hardware:
Sapphire 4870x2
Xonar DX
Samsung SATA DVD Burner
2x Seagate 7200.10 250GB drives
3x Seagate 7200.10 750GB drives

No problems here with my Mushkin DDR3 1600 on my i7 P6T Deluxe system. I believe the problems you might be refering to are AMD related.

I'm seriously LOLing over here because the exact same thought crossed my mind. If I'm buying the i7 CPU at Microcenter, my eagerness may win out over my wallet and I'll end up picking up that Corsair RAM and the vanilla P6T, likely regretting both choices within a week.

I've got the OCZ Platinum on my Newegg wishlist right now and it will probably be the first thing I order for my build. I've yet to see anyone complain about motherboard incompatibilities with it and OCZ tech support is top notch either way.

Why are you going with the DFI over the Asus? I've got an old DFI Ultra D board and I love it, but there seems to be nothing but bad reviews for the X58-T3eH6 on Newegg.
