Im trying to configure my first shuttle (making the switch from full towers) so my comp can be more mobile. With the holidays coming I will have lots o $$$ . The main problem is choosing which model to build (SN25P or SN26P).

Most likely I will not have SLI in a shuttle because I think that is suicide. I would also like to have 2 harddrives in it (looks like the SN26P cant utilize that?). The rig will be used for gaming mostly, video editing/graphics design as well.

Here are the specs I would like: Please confirm them (if they will work/fit within case restraints and ps issues)

7800 GTX (This is where I am most concerned, if I get a 512 version some people say it wont fit in the SN25P but the SN26P is such a huge premium for 1 extra video card slot :|, im also concerned with the heat problems for SLI upwards of 75 degrees?)

Also are there any "newer" 939 shuttle models coming out that I should wait maybe a couple of months for?

Why not get an X2 and a reg hdd instead of the raptor??

Well the only X2 I think is worth getting would have to have 2x 1MB L2 cache and those models are a little bit out of my price range after the video card/if I buy the SN26P 600 dollar case :|. As for the raptor I would just like the fastest drive within reason (not going to scsi). My current comp runs a raptor and I like the load times.

True :| I just wont be able to play quake4 on ultra high . But yeah im gonna think about the X2 upgrade.
On another note, does 2 harddrives fit in the SN26P (without serious modding)? Im lookin to put either a 74gb or 36gb raptor and a 500gb storage drive in it.

I honestly don't think an sn26p sli is suicide if you add a few little tweaks or modifications.
I mean the system was tested to work and the temps are in range of the hardware spec but most people have their own temps in mind and that is generally as low as possible.

Personally I like the mods Dworley has done as his temps are very much in range of safe even under load.....he has them listed in his thread on one of the pages.

I definately would get one if I could afford it but I would have to make a few mods like mentioned above just for my piece of mind. Hope this helps a bit. Good luck with building your pc.

I read dworleys thread, his outer card runs at almost 80 degrees (even with that little video card mod he has) and his inner runs around 70. I am not an expert but my current system my x800XT runs at 40-50 max.
