I just got a Toshiba P21CM00 (9 yrs old, but free.) My problem is that around the edges of the screen to about to inches in on both sides there is a lot of shimmering. I've tried using different resolutions and the highest refresh rate is offers but it's still there. The monitor uses the standard video card end and then has the RGB and two other plugs to the monitor. The red cable looks frayed and may be a problem. Also there is another connector for a standard monitor cable that I have yet to try.
The problem is seemingly gone with Zoran SoftDVD running and only somewhat noticable with games.
