Need more cooling. Help?

I've got a TT Armor case with 2 120's (1 front intake and 1 exaust back) 2 90's (exausts) and a 250 blowing over the mobo. My temps are 40c idle 50c load CPU, 60ish C idle GPU/80c Load. That's way to high for my liking, any way to decrease it? Would adding a few more fans in the front of the case do any noticeable good? A PCI Slot cooler?

What ways could I help cool this? My ambient room temp is 25c (maybe 23c on a good day.)

I'm not going water cooling or anything, strictly air, have I reached the maximum air cooling I can get? Anything other things to do to cool it more?

lower your voltage a little bit?

Get a better cooler?

lap your cpu?



one of those 3 will give you lower temps. Just your choice on which one of the 3 you want to do.

If you do all of them, you'll get the most gain.

I use a slot cooler for my GPU and a top 120mm exhaust.

My GPU temps are quite cooler.

reason is, look at all the airflow in that case.

i have the armor. His ambient inside wont be much greater then outside.


You need to do one of the 3 things i mentioned to get a lower temp.

You do all, you'll see the greatest results.

What's the best CPU cooler to get for Core 2? Is it still the Tuniq 120? Or is it something else now? What about for the 8800? I don't think I need a new one now, I maxed it's fan out to 100% all the time and my temps are 55 Idle and 70 Load.

I know the way that Coolermaster Centurion 5 cases are made, the air passes right through them. At least they're not expensive cases.

Should I keep my air flow equal? More air in? More air out?

There is a front 120 blowing air in as well as a side 250 blowing air on the mobo. A back mid case 120 blowing air out and the 2 92's at the top blowing air out.

Sounds like that case is ready for take-off now. your fans are more than you need. What are you using for vid cooling, look into aftermarket coolers for that 8800 and steps 1-3 of agio's recomendation and you should be fine. Be careful not to use too much thermal grease on your chips as it will act as an insulator, not enough and you'll have the same problem.
