just found out my burner bit the dust, and my 2nd cd drive is flaky as well, what brand model of burner should i get, it doesn't need to be super fast, but i would like it to be reliable and inexpensive, thanks
I have an PlexWriter Premium on the way, but I haven't figured out yet whether that GigaRec thing is based in hardware or software. I'll be exclusively running linux, so no idea if it'll work. All the other hardware features still make it an awesome drive though.
i just bought a Lite-On black 52x/32x/52x CDRW off newegg for like $43.. whats funny is that I was going to buy the 52/24 for $3 more, when they suddenly added a 52/32 for less money! So needless to say i hit that up...
its a great burner, but the couple of Memorex CD-R 700mb discs I have left are only writing at 40x so I need to find some faster media. Gotta love this media quality testing!
I've had a Lite-On burner for almost two years with over 1200 flawless CDs through it. Burns on anything I throw at it, and is as quiet as the day I got it.
