My Crucial RAM is giving me errors again. I want something else. Something stable and reliable. I have 800MHz modules now so as long as it's at least 800, I'm fine with it. I don't overclock it but bought these because the have the D9 (I think that's what it is) chips in in that can be overclocked. I want at least 4GB, more is better if it's not too expensive.

Please suggest away, I want to order today.

Thanks Blain. I've never used that brand but heard good things.

Just got to wondering, would I benefit much by going to a higher rated (1066, etc) RAM? Would it be noticeable?

only buy ram rated at 1.8V for ddr2. anything other than 1.8 is weaksauce.

Yeah, my ballistix are rated at 2.0 and the last time one of the modules went bad they told me it was because I was running them at a lower voltage than required. Either way, I'm done with crucial.

Still curious if I should just go with the 800MHz that Blain listed or go up to 1066, etc???

The PC2-6400 will allow for a CPU OC (Q9550), of up to 3.4GHz and still be operating 100% within the PC2-6400 specification.

What's the deal with DDR2 prices anyways, are they trending upward for good (manufacturers cutting DDR2 production in favor of DDR3, perhaps)? I thought 4GB would be a cheap upgrade, but prices have gone up a lot since I had last checked a few months ago. Am debating whether I should wait and see if prices decrease, or buy now before they go up even more.

That Corsair at Fry's is very tempting.

Blain (or anyone else that can help). i'm still on the fence as what RAm to order. I have read alot of the reviews on the GSkill as well as the Corsair posted above. Seems alot of people do not mention either will overclock that well. Now, I know I said originally I just wanted stable and would not overclock. the issue is that the reason I purchased my original crucial ballisti was partially due to being able to overclock them. I also see that the other two RAm mentions are 5-5-5-5-12 and my crucial is 4-4-4-12. I just don't want to go down in performance. Would I be by going with the Gskill or Corsair mentioned?

Someone help me make a decision. I want to order this by tomorrow so I can have it by next weekend.

I understand that. I have been at 3.8GHz with my current ram.

EDIT. So I just want to make sure I am not going down in quality/performance. I ANd the fact that the other RAM is 5-5-5-12 and my crucial is 4-4-4-12.
