Need Opinion: Should I give this guy Negative Heatware?

ok i bought a x-fi xm from this guy, i paid him within 2 min of him saying it's mine. i paid him on a tuesday night so he should have shipped it on wednesday (usps priority 2-3 days). he told me he'd ship it the next day (which is wednesday like i said^ but doesn't even do that so he's like yeah i'll get it on thursday) so i should get it in by saturday, well unfortunately he didn't. so i waited till monday bc i figured hey maybe mailing went slow for the post office, but tuesday came around so i pmed and asked him why it isn't it here yet, he says oh man i have a good explanation ... i been buzy with school and projects etc

he says he'll ship asap (doesn't even ship it THAT day when he responded to my PM but officially ships it the next day). it's like an endless cycle of have you shipped it (yeah i will but doesn't), i haven't received it so i'm not sure of the x-fi's condition. if the product comes in perfect condition, should i give him a negative or neutral?

i'm thinking neutral can be jusitified since he was "buzy" but ULTIMATELY HE HAS a responsibility to me yanno. but i'm thinking this guy deserves a negative whether the product is in perfect condition.

lmk what you think cuz i'm worried he'll retaliate and give me a negative in return

summary:
paid for on tuesday may 16
supposedly would ship it thursday may 18
got worried, PMed on monday may 22
finally paid shipping thru paypal on tuesday may 23 (usps priority 2-3 days) and supposedly dropped off at the post office
today is friday may 26 and still no sound card


ps. if having thread like this is against the rules, i apologize

i haven't had a sound card in a week+ bc of this guy (onboard sound is ok but the drivers are terrible)

Would you apreciated if the last person who had bought from this person and had the same experience left a negative so maybe you wouldn't have gone thru with the deal (and the associated frustration)?

If you don't leave honest heatware, the system doesnt work...

Meh. Sounds like he's just lazy. I could go either way. He didn't steal from you, though, so don't give him a negative.

very true but i will still leave a story of what he's done, i'm just contemplating whether it should be a negative or neutral

but you're right, i'll be giving him a negative once my x-fi xm comes in

if he promised to ship on a certain date and did not... and nothing out of the ordinary prevented him from doing so... then it depends on how badly you needed the item.

for me... i would be disappointed, but unless i told the shipper that i needed the item ASAP, and we firmly agreed that he would ship at a certain time, i would not ruin someone's heat over a few days. life happens.

if we had a firm agreement and he knew i needed the item by a certain time and he was just lazy, i would let him know of my displeasure and see what he says. no good excuse and i would leave a neutral.

well he said he'd ship it out wednesday/thursday when i paid him tuesday night so i figured hey it'll come by saturday so i didn't bother to say i need it asap since he told me himself he'd ship it out wed/thurs

but yes i needed this sound card since i sold mine off that same night

You gave him a chance to make it right and ship the item, but he didn't. It's not like it takes more than an hour tops to pack the item, drive to the post office, mail it, and drive back. I hate people who say over and over that they are busy. If they are so busy they shouldn't be trading. A day is one thing, anything more is doodoo.

Yes leave him a negative.

negs should be reserved for the worst of the worst. the trolls. the ones that you have to beat over the head to stop them from totally scamming you.

neutral is for when buyer gets item, seller gets money and there are things are not perfect.

he paid his shipping cost thru paypal and he printed out the label, so all he had to do was box it up and drop it off

sorry for my post being so cyclical, but that's exactly what happened so hopefully you can understand my frustration after that, lol

If the end result is you got the item, then I'd go Neutral but put notes in there that shipping was delayed by over a week but he lowered his price to make up for it.

you are frustrated, rightly so. even being pissed is understandable. but you were not scammed and you did not lose any money. you were inconvenienced, not scammed. therefore, a neg is not warranted.

if you are still unsure of what to do, you might wanna post this question in the FS/T forum where regular traders are.

no i bought it for $5 less than what he was selling, he didn't compensate it towards my frustration at all

I would also leave a neg if it was netrual plus no reconcilition or no agreement can be reached... bad terms, etc.

Did he provide you with tracking information?
Is he responding to your questions? Keeping the lines of communications open?


If the answer to those two questions is NO, then you might want to PM a mod and ask their advice.

Negative, he's delayed the shipping by a week now. You were supposed to have it in your possession a week ago.

Now is the time to get worried, you may have been scammed.

The USPS is notoriously slow in updating that info, you'll probably have the package before you see the status change (assuming he has shipped it).

As already covered neutral is fine, negative isn't warranted.
