You're paranoid, and slightly delusional as to the speed of the USPS.

Give it at least a week from the date of the tracking info.

Is that usually the case? Yes. Is that always the case? Of course not.

A week is the earliest point at which I would start worrying, particularly if the tracking status has not updated by that point.

While there is no excuse for the delays you have experienced thus far, you would be seriously out of line to jump to the "scammed" conclusion tomorrow. Don't forget to account for the holiday weekend as well.

these 2 last ppl who have replied prob didn't even read my thread

i paid him on the 16th, meaning he could have shipped it that night (which i do myself), but the 17th would have been the most reasonable and i even told him to ship ASAP

and today is the 26th? going on the 27th, hm you do the math

These last two people? I've commented on your thread early on and agreed with you, I was correcting this person who said you were impatient...

for me... i would be disappointed, but unless i told the shipper that i needed the item ASAP, and we firmly agreed that he would ship at a certain time, i would not ruin someone's heat over a few days. life happens.

if we had a firm agreement and he knew i needed the item by a certain time and he was just lazy, i would let him know of my displeasure and see what he says. no good excuse and i would leave a neutral.

Oh, and don't make the mistake of leaving heat before you receive/test the item! Only leave Heat once the transaction is 100% completed, so that it can reflect all aspects of the deal (including possible returns/refunds).

I'd take this into consideration...

But lying about shipping once would earn a neutral. Lying 3 times... I don't mess with that crap. Negative. Wait until the item arrives, test it, get the deal FINISHED, then leave heat. Don't worry about retailitory heat. It gets deleted, and I'm certain it just goes to show their immaturity and poor personal skills even better than a negative does.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT A NEUTRAL IS NOT A BAD THING. It's not necessarilly a good thing, either. That's why its "neutral". If the experience was a bad one, then negative for sure! A neutral wouldn't turn me away from someone, and if this guy is a liar, then you need to neg him so I am turned away. Personally, I'd turn down the deal of a century to avoid dealing with a person like OP described.

All in all, your opinion is your own and we can't decide. Try using these guidelines:

Positive: Smooth sailing. Maybe a minor snag at best, but no one is out time or money. Would gladly do business with this person again. Item was described perfectly and packaging was top notch. Good communication and pleasant to deal with.

Neutral: Hit some roadblocks, had some hassles, but the deal got finished. Either wouldn't deal with this person again or would be extremely hesitant to. Item may not have been as described, packaging was poor, their end of the deal may not have been held up 100%. Bad/Fair communication, or they sounded grumpy everytime you had to talk to them.

Negative: Huge roadblocks. The sort of thing that makes you not want to trust anyone. You might not have received anything, or you might have been better off just receiving an empty box. Item is not described acurately, packaging sucked, took a week for the person to respond every time you had to talk to them and a general pain in the ass to deal with. Would never do business with them again and would recommend everyone steer clear. Refused to fix problems and Lied to you plenty.

Return and refund.

A modern soundcard in a modern motherboard should have no problem working in any PCI slot when installed correctly.

Double check on another system, but this guy STINKS.

swatX has definitely stepped up, and I am sure that he did not intend to send out a defective item. I once took a Ti4600 out of my PC, put it in a static bag, bubble wrapped and boxed it up (the usual stuff)and shipped it to a buyer. When he received it the card was DOA. Things can and do happen that are beyond our control; however it's how we deal with it after the sale that is important.

swatX, please test the card when you get it back and let us know if you were able to get it to function properly.

This is just some friendly advice:

When you promise a ship date and cannot deliver, please contact the buyer and explain the delay. Lack of communication will usually land you in the hot seat, and when you couple it with slow shipping it usually means an unsatisfied buyer. I know that when I purchase items I typically want them ASAP.

to swatX: i appreciate you giving me no trouble for a refund, i just find it odd that you didn't question me AT ALL if i did everything properly from taking it out of the box to installing the card properly in my system

sorry to make accusations but it just seems kind of strange but expect to get heatware from me when i send this x-fi back to you

Whenever I've sold things I've always given a definite shipping date. If I don't stick to that date, for whatever reason, I've always offered faster shipping at no additional cost, or a partial refund of shipping to make up for it. Being "busy" is no excuse, as he obviously had time to post it, accept your money, and respond to emails. It takes a whole 5-10 minutes to get to a post office and drop the dang thing off, or if it's small enough drop it in one of the many millions of boxes across the country.

That being said, unless the card is in horrible condition, or missing something he said would come with it, I wouldn't give a negative. I'd even hesitate to give a neutral, even with the delay, but that's entirely up to you. I would also word a comment carefully, don't be a dick or anything in it, say that overall you are satisfied (if you are, of course), but that the shipping was a bit delayed, and you were kind of disappointed in that.

There were a couple threads in Hot Deals today with X-Fi cards.

Dunno the normal price but it seemed good for such a popular card.
