Hi everyone...
My current setup is rather old, and I'm finally buying a new system.
So far my list includes:
Core 2 Duo e6400
Asus P5B
X1950 Pro (Asus or Sapphire, whichever is cheaper)
This is not the best stuff out right now, but I plan to slowly upgade later on to DX10 and PCI-E 2 and Quad Core... anyway, this rig will suit my current needs.
However, I have two issues... I need some RAM, and a PSU, but more importantly RAM. I have no clue about which RAM pairs beat which other RAM, so I'm here for help.
All I know is that I need 2 GB of PC6400 800MHz.
My budget for this is about $350 CAD (not USD), however I don't want to waste more money on something that can be outperformed by something cheaper
And if anyone can recommend a good PSU.. budget for that is about $130 CAD... I'm planning to go CrossFire or SLi in the future, so I want something with sturdy amps and I'm guessing 600 or so Watts.
Thanks!
EDIT: also, is there a big diff between the P5B and P5B-E? I know the P5B-E has FireWire (which I don't need), but not sure about their OCing capabilities. And the P5B is about 30 bucks cheaper..
