I have a $10 GC to Barnes and Nobles and I'm looking at getting a book to read. I don't read normally (maybe like 2-3 books a year?), but I actually do enjoy it. However, I never keep up with books and don't know whats good and whats bad. Don't really care for the critically acliamed writers or award winning books or stuff like that as long as I'm entertained.
I don't want anything expensive (I don't want to spend more than $10 on top of the GC). Length doesnt really matter to me, nor does diffculty (well as long as its not insane.)
Just to give a taste of what I've read and like...
-Enders Game/Shadow
- Jurrasic Park/Lost World
- a couple of John Grisham stuff
- a couple of Tom Clancy stuff
- The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings
I REALLY liked the Enders books. Tom Clancy/John Grishman are good but eh. Michael Crichton stuff were pretty good, but still eh. To be honest, I was bored with the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings often because all they seemed to do is eat and complain.
blah blah balh. Don't really care for genre (except those school/educational reading books... Catcher of the Rye, Grapes of Wrath, Tale of Two cities, Great Gatsby.... I couldn't find them entertaining in the least bit... only one I liked of those types was Brave New World). No romance and stuff naturally also.
So basically Im asking, whats one book that you guys think I shouldn't go w/o reading because it was so good?
