Need Recover after format program help!

I am in dire need of a program that can recover files after a format. Nothing has been put on the HD since the format. More freeware the better.

Must work with NTFS!
Any help greatly appreciated!

When I needed to do this, I bought active@ uneraser. Their demo version won't recover any files, but it will let you view to see if files are there and recoverable.

When I accidentally did this (around May 2002), I, like you, looked freeware first, but couldn't really find any. So, I coughed up the $50 for uneraser. For me, I considered my lost files to be worth that price (I had personal digital pics on there of my family, which I considered well worth the cost)

you may want to look at their other products, as they also have one that recovers entire partitions rather than just files. link to their products page

An employee quit and deleted everything they have done in the past two years off their computer and the server, kinda cheap! Anyway I had backup tapes for the server, but I need to get these files back! Any other suggestions for a good program to recover this stuff.

Preferably free, but anything that will work. I just dont want to spend $50 on a program then it not work!

I tried active@ uneraser, but am not sure where to look for the files. C:\U N A S S I G N E D comes up, with lots of documents etc, but am not sure that those are the files.

How can I tell?

Ok, im getting pissed

I went to C:\Documents and Settings\firedidiot\My recent documents and all the files seem to have been in one folder which was in firedidiot's My Documents, but the program cant find any deleted folders from there.

Could it be possible that firedidiot cut & pasted to another source, this would mean they didnt delete, so would the file still be there? Can you burn to a CD with cut & paste?

Maybe your company should treat it's employees better so they don't get the urge to quit and delete evreything they've done.

Harrghh!

I forgot that the user's computers syncronize with the server, even though they deleted it from their computer, through Active@ undelete I was able to recover everything
