Need router I can grab on way home....wife's gonna kill me....

Ok, so long story short, my router history.....

D-Link 514
D-Link 524
WRT54G2 (ya, the one without antennas)

And all have died eventually. The Linksys is dying a quick death and the wife & kids are gonna kill me if I don't bring something home tonight.

*LOOKS* like the Netgear WNR2000 or the Linksys E1200 for what I can grab (BestBuy/Walmart/Target)

But.....if anybody's got better suggestions, I'm all ears. (And, of course pref between the two above???)

Staples, Sears, any place like that has them for about $20 with sunday newspaper coupon. Tell your family to get a job and buy their own electronics.

Thanks infoiltrator. I barely have a couple "N" devices right now (TV/laptop) lots of iPad 2's and a couple iPhone 5's so I'll probably just do the Linksys.

I'll eventually get something nice one day but for now I think that'll work!!

I always keep a spare, have a spare modem as well. Currently have a linksys but have an ASUS on standby just in case.

Ewww, I don't miss working at Target electronics when someone would demand, "I want the best wireless router you've got!" Well sir, we've got crap, slightly less crap, and rosemary-flavored crap. Get you a UniFi, whether 11n or 11ac with a hardwired router like the Edgerouter-X and don't look back. Kids and wife will never be pissed about Wi-Fi again. You'll thank me later

I have a netgear R7000 that has been working great for almost 2 years now. There were some issues with the original firmware requiring me to reboot it about once a week but when i updated it to the newest firmware its been up running flawlessly for over 6 months now. The print and file sharing work great to, as does the DLNA server.
