need security camera system for business

Recently there were couple robberies within 2 miles from me. I received a letter from my local policy regarding the robberies within the area. 4 years ago my business got rob by 4 black men with guns. Thank god no one go hurt but they got away with couple hundred dollars. I?m planning to install a security camera system, but I have no idea which to get.

Which security camera system do you recommended? I don?t care if they are wire or wireless as long the camera can identify the face of person I?m cool with it.

the video card for the system was 99
each camera is about 50 -99 (depending what you want
and the card has internet remote viewing from home
i bought a 300 gig hd with it, we are on day..... 7 i think and its only used like 2 gigs

How much are you looking to spend? A friend from my bike club just spent ~$4k on a video system viewable anywhere away from home, as long as you have access to the internet. He installed 8 cams I think, and it looks great. Lemme know if you're interested.

I'd be interested in a cheap solution too.

I want to put a camera outside my front door, or looking through the window by my front door. I then want to put a signal to a small LCD panel in the kitchen area, so I can see whos at the door before I go to answer it.

What ever you do just dont go cheap. It amazes me on some of these they go cheap where the picture is so fuzzy you cannot make out any facial feature. You or your employees would have to count on that system if the worst should happen or if they just got a few bucks.

Why would you stick in an cheap as hell camera and a $20 vcr.
I would probably go all digital with some high def mega MP cameras so that if you needed to zoom in on a face it wong go all pixalted on you.

Then a few dvd burners or dedicated computer system to record the action instead of a vcr and you should be set.
Also make sure to atleast have one camera hidden along with the recording unit behind a false wall or something. Just on the off chance they get smart and pull the disks out before leaving.

And make sure to have cameras all over the place that can be seen. Even some that are dummy ones right out in the open. A few right over the counter in your face. Less likly to be robbed when you have them all over having them think they are getting a shot of thier faces from every part of the shop. They just dont need to know most dont go to anything. As long as they have a red light on it should be enough to move on to someone with 1 POS camera doing the whole place.

I have an ebay special wireless one and I sure as hell wouldnt rely on it for security. Maybey just to see who is at the door but that is it.

I wouldnt know about higher end wireless cameras but I would guess they would cost more and have a worse picture then a wired one.
