Need serious help what monitor/printer should i get

Ok this is my first post and I know you guys can help b/c i have been in these forums for a couple of weeks and i see how helpful everyone is. Ok my problem is that I am building my first comp, not the problem my friend is helping me, but i need to get a new monitor and printer and I have been researching and checking out buys and onvia.com seems to be the best.
SO my question is: what monitor should i buy, under $500 and what printer should i buy perferably under $150. ok now i have an idea and maybe you can help. RIght now I am looking at the PS790 Short Depth Monitor 19IN/18.0V 25MM for the monitor and BJC-6000 Color Bubblejet 8/5PPM 1440x720DPI SW for the printer. the monitor is $459.98 minus $25 if anyone can tell me where that discount is and the printer is $144.98 with the $50 rebate. SO What do you guys think about this it is right in my price range and so i need help deciding. ALso i am not set on the viewsonic monitor and i was also looking at the samsung 900ift, but of course out of stock. Thankx everyone for helping and I hope to be ordering my new monitor, based on everyones suggestion, by the end of the week especailly since the $25 discount ends on the 17th.

I've always thought that for inkjet printers Hewlett Packard is the best and sets a standard of sorts, and I've read this in a number of reviews also. I use an inexpensive HP Deskjet 812C, and I print a lot of 6-20 page double-sided docs and it's virtually trouble free and jam free every time. If you get an HP stick to their 800 or 900 series.

Agree with ccc, ViewSonic's shadow mask monitors just look like junk these days. Get yourself an AG monitor, such as Sony or Mitsubishi. If you like shadow mask(or hate those AG damper wires), try Samsung and Hitachi.

Slight problem - PointClick no longer lists Onvia on their site.

I would recommend the Samsung Syncmaster 900NF - after several huge 19" monitor threads. From a price/performance standpoint it beats the PF795, and kills the G400 (at least with the Onvia prices).

Viewsonic A70 or A75f (Flat screen) for your monitor. I live and die by the name Viewsonic when it comes to monitors, as they give hands down performance every time. There technology when it comes to unique ways of displaying the aperture grilles is great.

As for the Printer, I myself would go for an Hp612c, may be a bit older sure, but you could find one for maybe 80 bucks or less. Its a great printer, especially for the price. Most "bang for your buck" kind of printer out there, as it can print up to 6 ppm black and 4 ppm color.

I hear good things about the KDS-AV195TF (FD Trinitron) at onvia for ~$338 after $25 off and %10 pointclick. Now that's bang for your buck! As for a printer, i'd go for the Lexmark Z52 at staples.com. It has crazy good specs. U can get it for $140 if u use the $40off coupon. Check out http://savings-center.com/ for coupons.
