Need some feedback plz on 7600GT

I am considering trading down from my Sapphire X1800XT 256DDR3, it has the 512 core and 1.1 ns DDR, I have not overclocked it since I have had it, it has run stock to a X2 3800 @ 2.6

I play Far Cry, Doom 3, HL2, COD2, and FEAR plus NFSU and GTA San Andreas. I prefer to use my LCD native res of 1680x1050.

I have been offered a 7600 GT plus cash for the 1800XT, my concern is will I be able to play these games at native res with an XFX 7600GT that does 580/775 solid. If I have to sacrifice detail settings I can live with it cause I would like to move to a 2GB kit and the cash will help do that rather than shelling out more dough.

What would you do, would you just hold out with the GB of ram and keep the 1800XT and try flashing it to XT PE and get ram down the road? I paid $240 shipped for my XT so I got a decent deal about 5 weeks ago

No dont do it!!! Thats a very large step down considering what you payed for it, $240? thats a joke! The x1800xt 256mb outperforms the 7600gt by more than 2x, this card sells for around $160+, do the math its not worth it. The details needed to be sacrificed to game at your native res would leave you very unhappy and regretful. The 2gb isnt going to do much in your current game line up, exception for F.E.A.R, but if you insist then get that at a later date. Whatever you do dont trade him, he knows hes getting the better part of the deal by a million.

thx for the feedback, I have not found alot of reviews with gaming at the res I am questioning but I assumed it would be a difference in performance. I was just wondering whether I could live with it. Like you said I do not want to regret it, I guess the sooner I install my VF900 on it for silence I will then be committing to keeping it just cause the hassle.
