need some good hot sauce

Dave's insanity is probably the hottest I've ever had. It does NOTHING for taste - it's strictly heat. A DROP will turn a thing of chili into a blazing inferno. If you're looking for taste, I'd suggest something else. If you're looking for an exlax substitute, I highly recommend it.

i was always under the assumption that this was the case with most of the hotter(like scorpion pepper,ghost pepper,carolina reaper,etc)hot sauces,daves gourmet seems pretty hard to find in my area anyway

Tropical Pepper co Scorpion sauce...

The taste is alright, but it's *HOT*. Otherwise, just try a bunch, and see what you like. My goto sauces for various things are Tabasco, Valentina extra hot, Tropical Pepper co 4x habanero, and Tropical Pepper co ghost chili.

Since you mention Ghost pepper you like things super hot (what is your Scouville tolerance level?) I find things with Habanero or Scotch Bonnet to have a good combination of heat and flavor. (scouville unit of around 500k) I used to like Matouks but too many artificial ingredients in it. Luckily there is a place in town that makes an all natural hot sauce (Habenero) that is really good.

I too found stuff from Daves while super hot they do not add much flavor. As for Sriracha, i use that stuff like others use ketchup. Tabasco is just red water.

id say ghost pepper or scorpion pepper.i eat alot of ghost pepper salsa just never had the actual ghost pepper hot sauce before

I actually dislike the taste of ghost peppers. Mrs Renfros Ghost Pepper salsa is not particularly good, IMO. The Habanero, while not as hot, tastes better.


Also, wtf is wrong with Google. Habanero is a word that has been around for a thousand fucking years... stop saying it is spelled incorrectly.

Tabasco has more vinegar and salt in it than Tabasco peppers. It's still better than nothing, though.

I like their spicy Soy Sauce, though.

Mrs Renfros Ghost Pepper salsa is not particularly good

its alright,i perfer chunky salsa and think its not chunky enough but its the only brand of ghost pepper salsa i can find

maybe ill get the habanero,the only other mrs renfros salsa ive tried was there tequila salsa and its pretty good

It's not especially hot, but has a good flavor, and medium thickness. I use it as my "ketchup" substitute. You can get a liter at Walmart for about $2.

Edit:
BTW, I forgot El Yucateco green sauce. Ridiculous color, but a delicious flavor. You can get a small bottle for under $2 at Walmart. If you go to a Mexican store, you should be able to find the extra hot. Same great taste, but no ridiculous color.
