Need some help cooking

(Ironically, I was reminded that I have to cook ribs by the Jessica Alba thread)

Questions: should I bake them first, then put the bbq sauce on them on the grill?
Should I just pour the bbq sauce on them & bake them in the oven?

What temperature (my oven can be set for any specific temperature 100F+)?

Yes, I have a smoker. No, I'm not going to bother with it. Too much effort for the little return of ribs.

No charcoal because of the hassle?

Spareribs are fairly large so they will take a while to cook. They have a lot of fat so they should remain moist and be more forgiving than baby back ribs.

When I smoke ribs, I keep the temperature between 250-300. You will get pretty moist ribs by cooking in the oven, but the texture will be off in my opinion.

If you are dead set on not using a smoker, then I'd cook in the oven at 275F to your liking. I'd remove any membrane first. I would rub the ribs and cook them first with only dry seasoning. Then on the grill (gas I assume) I would use sauce just to get them a little char texture.

When I smoke ribs I cook dry ribs as in only with dry rub seasoning. This wouldn't go well in a oven/gas grill cooking combination. You need something to mask the greyish color the ribs will turn by cooking them in the oven.

That is a very good way to do them. I've done them like this with good results.

However OP has spare ribs so he'll need to add cooking time. When I bbq back ribs they take about 4 hours. spare ribs about 6-6.5.
