Friend sent me a note with this, the free web translators don't really make any sense to me.

I don't get it either, I think it's just not going to work as a literal translation. Most likely just a way to ask "Are you paying attention?"

i think "Are you paying attention?" is prolly on the right track

The sentence makes no sense btw, it's not a French expression at all.
