Need some help on a dual cpu Seti system...

Just finished a dual P3-800EB,512mb,Windows 2000 system and I'm trying to set up Seti.
What client do I install? Do I need 1 client per cpu or let both cpu work on 1 client?
What kind of times should I get? Thanks

I know the answer to the first part

You'll have to run two clients, each of which should be installed to a different directory. Set each CPU to run a different instance of S@H.

In addition to the 2 separate instances of the seti cli client, use setiq to load wu's and keep track of them - seti queue resides in its own directory, and you use the &quot;setipatc&quot; command line to patch the clients to the seti q program. I'm getting about 7 hours/wu on dual 550E's, so you should do better than that -----

Here's more specifics:
download winnt commandline client, 3.0 version
create 2 directories in C:\program files - Seti1 and Seti2
copy the client into each directory
run the client in each directory, this will set up the client, add your email address (and don't forget to join the Team!)
Change the name of the .exe files to something simple like seti1.exe and seti2.exe, this will make things easier to keep track of later
Don't worry about cpu switches, win2k does a great job of distributing work.
Close the clients down.
Create a directory called SetiQ, get program from links on Orange Kid's page (someone help here?)
Run setiQ, use the faq to configure it.
Close setiq.
Go to start/run and type cmd - this will open a dos box
cd your way to the setiQ directory
type setipatc &quot;c:\program files\seti1\seti1.exe&quot;
hit enter
type setipatc &quot;c:\program files\seti2\seti2.exe&quot;
hit enter
with any luck, this will patch your clients to setiQ
Go to &quot;My Computer&quot; and click your way to the seti directories, make shortcuts to the 2 clients and setiQ, move them to the desktop.
Start the clients, start setiQ, hope it works.

Others please check my instructions for errors and omissions.
BTW, I also use Seti Spy to keep track of progress of wu's
I also use HideIt to keep the boxes out of my taskbar.

O.K. I've got 2 seti's going using setispy and created short cuts in the startup menu to each. Task manager says both cpu's at 100%.I'll work on setiq tomorrow. Already on the team

if you are on a network:ie-home lan
setiQ will work if you put the -proxy.###.###.###.###:5512 after the exe.This will point it towards setiQ im told.
I believe seti driver is a easier prog for a lone machine. it also will cach multiple WU's.

You could always run SetiDriver. No patching clients and it'll automatically detect your dually and take care of all that for you.

If you have a lan installed, and your omputer always has an IP, then you can just use -proxy 127.0.0.1:5512 to have the seti client loopback and get WU's from it's self.. then there is no patching required.
this is only good if you have an installed NIC in your computer. if your using a modem adn DUN then your SOL, and will have to use the patch.
