Question Need some help picking a 34" Ultrawide

Been looking at an ultrawide for work and occasional gaming (the only FPS I've played on PC is Destiny 2; I'm mostly a console person). I've found two monitors that seem to be basically the same price, but I can't figure out which would be better. They're both 34" 21:9 3440x1440 and 5 ms response:
LG 34WL750-B.AUS: IPS display, 60Hz, FreeSync
ViewSonic VG3448: MVA display, 100hz, No FreeSync/GSync

Thoughts? Or something else I should be looking at? Those are both around $500 US; could go more expensive if there's something that makes a lot more sense. Could also go down to 1080 screens if someone can explain a good reason that would make a lot more sense.

For example, would the BenQ XR Series EX3501R be worth an extra $50 from those? or the Alienware AW3418DW be worth $300 more than the above? (Seeing it for $800 right now.)

Honestly, hard to say considering half the websites that have the VG3448 list it as 60hz, the other half list it as 100hz, or simply don't list the refresh rate at all.

Also, it has a 25ms GtG response time, which is gonna be pretty crap for 100hz. Even at 60hz with 25ms GtG pixel response, you will get horrible ghosting and smearing.

60hz is a new frame every 16.6ms, having pixel response grey to grey time at 25ms means MOST pixel transitions will be well beyond the 16.6ms frame time at 60hz, and the issue will only be compounded at 100hz, at 100hz the frame time is down to only 10ms, 25ms GtG just isn't gonna suffice for a good looking image.

If you don't play fast-paced games this might be okay for you, but i'd recommend looking elsewhere. The BenQ EX3501R on paper looks better, but without professional reviews to compare them it's a bit of a crap shoot.

Think I'm going to go for the BenQ. Plenty of professional reviews on it, and it seems to be well liked. If I gamed more on PC, I'd probably go up to the alienware, but the BenQ seems like a better choice for "mostly work, occasional game." I'm more a console player for fast paced stuff.
