You won't be able to get all that for $500 if you want nice stuff. Unless your local shop has some sort of package.....even then it will be low grade equipment.

12" subs sound "crisper" than 1 15" of the same quality. Although, the bigger the sub, the better it can handle baselines...

What ever is good for 500 bucks that i can buy at either circuit city or best buy let me know 1(15) would be find. Doesn't matter what evers good for the money I dont' really even want to spend 500 on just subs and an amp i'd like to do it the cheapest but don't really wanna spend more than 400 really so look at 400 being my price range let mek now

Edit: Im not an audophile (sp?) so i don't need great stuff i'm only a kid still and just want some good enough stuff to blow away other people around my area.....thats about it....

thanks

You don't need 2 12" Subs unless your going for the SPL.

You need 1 good 12" sub Elemental Designs is making nice stuff right now if you only want to spend $120. I would go with Adire Audio and get a SHIVA. Great SQ with excellent Bass. I'm running 1 12" Lamda Acoustics PB 12 LE and kill my friend with Phoenix Gold amps and 2 10" Audio Bahn's. He spent twice as much as I did on Subs and spent 3x as much on an amp. Plus I'm using a Swap Meet $30 pre fab box.

The Lamda is no longer made but once you realize that half the price of a subwoofer is marketing you realize to go wit hthe lesser known companies that produce in small batches.

If your looking for HUGE SPL! This monster is gonna kill everything! They do not list the brand and I forget what its called, if you PM I will dig up the name & review for you. But this thing had insane reviews 2yrs back!

Not this bullshit again...

If you want two 12's, try the Atlas 12's from ascendantaudio.com. XBL^2 motor, 18mm one way Xmax. Supposed to be pretty nice for the money, especially since they lowered the price.

uhh.. well, I would go with the infinity reference subs at circuit sh!tty, or go with the more expensive audiobahns there if you're gonna buy at circuitcity/bestbuy... in my car i'm gonna be running two of the infinity references fiberglassed into each side of my car, then using an MA Audio M1889I amp running at supposedly 800 watts RMS in parallel so both the subs get power... the MA Audio M1889I would be a good starter amp... Keep in mind that when you're gonna buy wires for the amp at bestbuy/circuit city you're gonna get ripped off bigggggg time.. at best buy there was an amp wiring kit that was 60+ bucks, and i knew a girl there that got me an employee discount, after the discount they were 11 bucks. as for the amp if you're gonna buy it at best buy/circuit city... I would probably buy one of the rockford fosgates at best buy.

I hope you know I now hate you.

Unless you are paying for that car and you also earned that 500 dollars, you're just another spoiled prick. A 2004 Grand Am? And you're only 16 so you just got your license within the last year. You're also complaining about a deck that is still nice which furthers my point.

I wish my parents spoiled my ass off.

I personally like HiFonics gear, I'm not an audiogeek but I've owned some of their subs and amps and was very happy with them.

I am a Pheonix Gold freak for subs and amps and signal processors.......Premier for deks and MB Quart for mid/high range speakers.

For $500, you may be able to equip yourself with some pioneer stuff...not the greatest stuff, but good warranty and a known name.

Dual is complete JUNK! Made by Jensen...

1100W is Peak!

600W is RMS - You need an Amp that will push up to 600W RMS. Don't look at Peak power it meaningless Advertising hype.

Why will you not choose to buy components from other places?

Here is a Best Buy Amp that will work with your set-up. I guarantee Car-Domain and other online retailers will save you a minimum of $50 on this amp:

becaues my brother is using my car for the next month or so and hes home for spring break. He lives 200 miles away and i want to install it for a school project during the week while hes home. because i go to a tech school and my teacher would like me to make an instructional video on how to install a car stereo system.....

Oh, good lord man, if you're going to buy car audio stuff, don't buy anything from CC or BB.
Most of the stuff they sell are crap and overpriced.

Do some research on the net and save a ton buying online.
The best thing you can ever do is learn to install stuff yourself.

If you do your homework, you can get a pretty decent setup for $500.
Goto a car stereo forum like caraudio.com.....lot more info there.

You would be better off asking this question in a real car audio forum where there isn't so much misinformation.
