Alright heres my current problem. Ive got an Albatron PX915P4 that ive had for a little while now, and Ive been using a Geil 3200 Dual channel kit (2x512) 3200. The sticker on the ram says 2.5 6-3-3 for the timing.

Then i just bought another Geil dual channel kit (2x512) 3200, however, the sticker on this pair of ram says 2.5 8-4-4 for the timing. Now i figured that the timings wouldn't be the same, and i assumed this wouldn't be a problem, but i was wrong.

When both kits are in the DIMM slots, all 4x512, the computer will turn on, but the screen stays black. Ive tried all the different combinations and orders of aligning the sticks in the DIMM slots and nothing is working. For some reason i can only have one kit in at a time. But i know this motherboard supports up to 4g of memory. So the old kit (2.5 6-3-3) and the new kit (2.5 8-4-4) work on their own, but not together.

Whats the cause? i need some help yarrr!!

You could try going into the BIOS and checking your RAM settings. If they're set to Auto, you may want to manually set the RAM timings to 2.5-8-4-4, to see if that solves your problem. I'd also check to see if both sets of RAM default to the same voltage, and set it manually to the higher if there is one.

Sometimes it's damn near impossible to get some mainboards to function properly with all DIMM slots populated though, but I don't know if this is true of your board.

I'm not at my computer now, so i haven't been able to test the voltage thing. I have however manually set the timings to 2.5-8-4-4 and that resulted in the same problem.

Also, i noticed that if i'm only using 2x512 in my computer, it can only be in the left channel ( channel 1 ). If it is in the right channel ( channel 2 ) the computer will not boot. I don't know if this is a sign that something is phsyicall wrong with the motherboard or if its meant to do this.

but i'd like to keep hearing ideas besides the fact that the motherboard might be broken or something

try putting only one stick of RAM in at a time and run MemTest on each one. If you get any errors, you'll know if one or more faulty DIMM's is the root of your problem.

Well i know that my 4 sticks of ram work, ive tried them in a friends computer and it worked out fine. So it must be a bad motherboard? or some compatability issue with the mobo

First, there is a difference between apparently working and passing memtest which puts the memory under stress. Second try running at 2T command rate. Third, quite a few MB's have 'issues' when fully populated with non-identical ram. Keep trying and keep posting.
