Need some help with upgrading my RAM, prices are ridiculously low these days!

It seems like every week there are really good deals on RAM, I figured might as well get a bump in RAM since it's so cheap.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what RAM to get and whether they would work nicely with what I have now and would I even noticed the difference, 4GB > 8GB.

Here are specs for my computer from CPUz

Processor: i7 860
Socket: 1156 LGA
Core voltage: 0.848V @ 2.8GHZ Bus speed at 133.2MHz
Mobo: Gigabyte P55A UD3
Memory: OCZ PC3-10666 2x2GB DDR3-1333; DRAM Frequency 532.9MHz
FSBRAM ratio: 2:8


Question is can I take advantage of something like this ( I know they're expired) but I'm thinking there might a be another DRAM deal coming up w/ Black Friday.

Stick with the 1333MHz to match what you already got. There's almost no benefit from faster RAM on LGA1156.

Might as well buy considering how cheap this upgrade is compared to the original price of your system.

im always a little bit effy on mixing up rams of different brand...

but never mix up ram speed. always keep the same speed, or itll make things really screwy.

so yeah, stick with the 1333, it really wont make too much difference anyways.

Given that you can buy 8GB of RAM for $40 every day of the week, I would go with 8GB of G.Skill that roughly matches your OCZ. Best case, you have 12GB of RAM. Worst case, the G.Skill doesn't play well with the OCZ and you'll "only" have 8GB.

Do I need to do anything different, just plug it in and it's go to go? My current slots that are taken are 1 and 3, does that mean just pop this guys in 2 and 4 and fire it up, no other changes?

That RAM is DDR3 1600 though, which probably won't play well with your OCZ. I'd get something rated exactly the same and try for 12GB myself.
