Need some help with wireless

So I sat down to use the internet today, and when I clicked on IE, it couldn't find the connection. I clicked "Try Again", but that didn't work. So I checked the status on my wireless card. It was reading an "excellent" connection to my network at 11.0 Mbps. I thought this was kind of weird, so I rebooted (didn't fix it) reinstalled the wireless card drivers (didn't fix it) and reset the router/wireless base station, which still didn't fix it. The Wireless Connection Status window shows that packets are being sent, but none are being received.

Does anyone have any idea of how this can be fixed?

My router is a Microsoft MN-500 Wireless Base Station.
My wireless card is a D-Link DWL-G520 PCI Adapter

My network currently consists of 2 computers, and mine is the only wireless one. Both computers are running Windows XP Home.

Thank you.

Do you have broadband? Cable, DSL? If its cable, unplug the modem (from the AC outlet) leave it unplugged for at least 30 sec. Plug it in again. If it is DSL, this may be a bit more complex....You have to make sure the PPPoE settings are right on the router so it signs onto the DSL. Was this connection ever working? Your wireless router is working fine, its just your router isn't gettin out the the internet. Most likely if you've got cable, what I said will fix everything.

Yeah I have cable, but unfortunately that didn't fix the problem. Thanks anyway. Any other ideas?

signal strength is there - means you have a connection to the wireless router. the problem lies from the wireless router to your isp.

ie. if you check your ipconfig - you'll see that you have an ip address. but try pinging your dns's. see if you can resolve www.yahoo.com for example, see if you can go out.

the reason why you can't, you probably have to login to your router and check to see if it has a public ip. this is common that it fails once in a while. sometimes the downtime could be mins, sometimes hours.

resetting the dsl/cable modem and/or the wireless router will usually fix it. turn both off, then turn on the modem, wait, then turn on your router.

Yep, do what foggy said...try unplugging the modem, and router. Then try plugging one in first then the other. IE, try plugging the router in first, then the modem. IF that doesn't work, try it the other way around.
